Documentary: The Horse Boy

This documentary was about a boy with autism, and his parents. They decided to take him to Mongolia to try to “cure” him via shamans and horses. I don’t know how I feel about this, on the one hand, I get that because autism is so mysterious they felt the need to explore every option, no matter how obscure it was. But at the same time, how do you think that boy will feel when he grows up and sees this film of his parents trying to cure, trying to change him.

They spoke about his relationship with horses and how they seemed to calm him. So why not spend that money on a horse and allow him to build his relationship further?

Again, I’m pretty torn on how I feel about this film. It was definitely interesting though. Have you seen it? What do you think?
