100 Books in 2012: #14

Since I’ve finished school, I’ve had a ton of time to spend reading. I devoured this book in a matter of days. Half-Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls is pretty interesting. It’s the memoir of her grandmother, Lily Casey Smith, who was born around 1900, and her ‘adventures’. The book was written after her book The Glass Castle, which is a memoir of Mrs. Walls’ life. This one seems to have been written to gain a better understanding of Jeannette Walls’ mother, who was definitely portrayed in a different light. I really enjoyed it though; it was definitely interesting to read about someone’s life on a ranch in the U.S.
