100 Books in 2012: #17

Before I left for Montreal, I finished A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I found it a little difficult to get into at first, but once I got past Part 1 I couldn’t put it down! This book is written from the point of view of 2 women, generations apart. The story takes place in Kabul primarily, and discusses both women’s struggles with oppression, and just life in general. I really enjoyed it, and definitely recommend it! Also, if you haven’t read The Kite Runner, it is written by the same author, and also very good!

  1. I actually have this book just sitting in the trunk of my car for when I need a book to read and I don’t have one ready in my purse. I will definitely move it up to my to-read pile now. Thank you.
