I just finished this book. It was such a compelling read! I really liked that you learnt about the Amish lifestyle while reading this book (yes, it may not have all been true since it was a fiction book) but I know that Jodi Picoult does her research when novels so that they can be as accurate as possible. So it was very interesting to see life from the view of the Amish. This book is about an Amish woman who is accused of hiding her pregnancy and killing the baby when she delivers it in the barn. It was honestly hard to tell if she had actually committed the crime or not, and I couldn’t stop reading!
The book was written from a few people’s views, the non-Amish lawyer who has to live with the Amish family for a while, the Amish woman charged, and briefly, the Amish family members. I really enjoy most of Jodi Picoult’s books, and this one was up there along with the others.
Have you read this? What did you think?
